Coordinating Committee's ministry of dialogue

The Coordinating Committee continues to meet monthly between Sierra-Cascades business meetings to tackle conversations that are time sensitive, support the clerks in preparation for larger gatherings, and discern around big-picture vision.

Over the last few months, we have spent time in dialogue with folks from Equity and Inclusion, Nominating, Nurture of Ministry, Gathering, Safeguarding, Finance, and Communications, and we hope to continue connecting with people from various committees so we can help coordinate the work of the larger community and the gifts being offered by so many.

Equity and Inclusion have sent us a proposal for a working group to research and propose donations totaling $125,000 for Indigenous concerns. We are in conversation with them about this proposal.

We think it's important to work together as a committee with the same kind of healthy communication, mutual respect, humor, trust, and kindness we hope to nurture in our broader community.
