Meeting for Worship with Attention to Dungeons & Dragons

Sierra-Cascades Youth Overnight

Eugene Friends Church,  3495 West 18th Avenue Eugene, OR 97402

October 27, 2023 (the night before quarterly meeting)

Start time: 6 p.m.

End time: When the one shot is finished, latest 12 p.m. Individual players can leave when they need to.

Bring: D&D items of your own, if you want (not required). You can make a character sheet of your own but contact Amy and Espen at register@scymf.org if you plan to make your own.

We'll be playing with a first level party, and the game will be friendly to new players.

Also, we would love it if each player comes with the name they want for their character, even if they don't have a character sheet. If people are interested, they can definitely look up YouTube videos that go over DND basics, but that's not required. Created characters can be on physical paper or online through D&D Beyond. We will also have pre-made characters, which will be given out on a first-come first-serve basis. People can trade pre-made characters before the game starts, if they want. Pre made characters will be less personal than a custom built character. As we are planning to do a non-violent or no killing story, combat characters are strongly advised against.

Adults involved in Sierra Cascades or North Pacific can volunteer or play. As far as D&D goes, experienced players would be amazing, but adults to help out could also be helpful. Adults participation depends on the number of youth who are interested. Everyone can sign up, but adults may be unable to play if too many youths are interested. If the community has enough enthusiasm for this, we'll do more and give more people a chance to play in the future. Adults over 18 are required to pass a background check before attending.

If a youth would prefer or need a parent with them, you can both play one character as a pair if you want (parent's/guardian's discretion).  Please mention that when you register.
