Gillian George
Gillian has been part of many denominations over the years and finds her spiritual home at West Hills Friends in Portland, OR. Gillian is a non-profit Operations maven, poet, and technical consultant, and is enjoying a midlife awakening, which has included a deep exploration of gender and sexuality. She started writing poetry in 2018 while recovering from a severe head injury caused by a bicycle accident. Poetry was a way to process the trauma and try to grapple with understanding and articulating the state of her mental health, or lack thereof. Her ministries include clerking, public speaking, sharing the poetry she writes during meetings for worship, providing organizational leadership and operations guidance, and being a mom to just about anyone who needs a trans mom in their corner.
